In conjunction with our theme on 'Animals', the preschoolers visited the Hay Dairy Farm at Lim Chu Kang Road. There, we were greeted by the sight of hundreds of goats reared. Firstly, a staff at the farm enlightened us on the vacuum milking system that the farm practices instead of the traditional milking by hand. At one time, about 10-12 goats can be milked. After awhile, we went on a free and easy tour of the farm as the children tried their hands at feeding the goats with a special kind of hay - the Alfalfa Hay. Not only that. The baby goats were too cute to resist as the children bravely patted them gently. It was indeed a unique experience that we all enjoyed as we too became 'experts' on goats at day's end!

We started off the event by sharing with the children on the story of how Mid Autumn Festival came about by using puppets. All of the children brought different types of lanterns to school from the ones with music to the ones with lights that can be switched on with a button! The teachers help to mix the dough for children to have a hands on activity so that they can learn how to make a mooncake for themselves! Due to rainy weather, we ended the event by switching off all the lights and had our "walk" with our lanterns on in the school itself!

This year we mark the racial harmony celebrations with a combined performance from toddlers right up to K2. It wasn't easy to do this mass performance though. When we started with the announcement we had to seek parents understanding to let their child come back to the teachers for their performances. Parents cooperated and all went well, which we ended with a feast of Indian, Malay and Chinese delicacies. Delicious!

The children from Learningvision@ NTU were brought to the zoo on the 26th of June 2008 where they were treated to Animal shows and enjoyed seeing the many animals at the Singapore Zoological Gardens! Seeing these animals live added a dimension to their learning in which experiencing and observing are key factors.

Red and White Hunt A hunt for Red and White begins! This is our first field trip for our little Toddlers, and we are excited to have some of our daddies, mummies and grannies to come along with us. We set off in search for 'Red' and 'White' which are our National Colors. After our hunt, we had some game and fun at the open space. It is tiring, but all the fun and joy make it worthwhile!
