Apprenticeship

At Learning Vision, we are committed to and passionate about the early childhood profession and take pride in ensuring our training is not only relevant to the real world of work but also incorporate holistic practices in child development. The Learning Vision Apprenticeship Programme is designed to ensure that, on successful completion, candidate will be equipped with necessary academic knowledge as well as hands-on experience to teach in a preschool environment. The programme will include a comprehensive internship which would provide the practical experience with structured mentoring programme for the candidate. It will also include other soft skill training like Personal Effectiveness, Communication and Customer Service to ensure “all roundedness” of our graduate. Delivered on a full-time study mode, candidate will also be given monthly allowance to ease their financial concerns.

Our focus on qualified early childhood professionals is paramount. We believe the importance of early years for children’s learning and all aspects of their development start as early as their infant stage. Therefore the importance of quality pre-school education depends greatly on the teachers and the training received by them. The programme will see qualified preschool educators graduating into the industry enhancing the standards of preschool professionals in Singapore. This effort is also in line with the goal set by the Pre-school Qualification Accreditation Committee (PQAC) which is jointly steered by the Ministry of Education (MOE) and the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports (MCYS) to have 1 in 4 teachers to be trained to the Diploma in Pre-school Education (Teaching) level by 2008.

At Learning Vision, we believe learning is a joyful journey that begins from young and continues through our lives culminating in a lifelong pursuit of knowledge and wisdom. This programme will ensure that pre-school professionals are well equipped to provide our young with an enriched learning environment, to nurture their social skills and values, and prepare them for lifelong learning. We will be embarking on an active publicity campaign to acquaint the community and truly develop early childhood educators to be a professional career and support MCYS’s focus in “Strengthening the Early Childhood Community.”

The apprenticeship program received an overwhelming response of over 100 strong candidates for its Apprenticeship programme during its Career Talk held at Meritus Mandarin, Singapore. 3 weeks into the launch of the Apprenticeship programme, which aims to see an investment of $1.5m train quality preschool educators for Singapore and the region, Learning Vision received 170 signups for the talk, out of which over 100 potential candidates turned up. The talk shared details about the programme and the selection process. Candidates also had the opportunity to find out more about the organization from the Learning Vision staff present.

Publicity campaign will be on an on-going basis to acquaint the community and truly develop early childhood educators to be a professional career and support MCYS’s focus in “Strengthening the Early Childhood Community.”
